Veterans Float Fund

Oly Float is proud to offer a pay-it-forward program for our active and veteran military service men and women, and actively collaborates with Sound Sound Veterans Partnership to help veterans discover floating as one of the therapies available to them.

Active military and veterans are among those who benefit the most from the unique combination of benefits that floating and sensory deprivation offer.   In combination with other traditional therapies, it can be an incredible tool for unwinding the effects of PTSD and its many co-factors, such as depression and anxiety.  Additionally, the large transdermal (via skin) exposure of magnesium-rich Epsom salts is one of the most effective ways of physically de-stressing the body. Many vets find the solitude of the float tank environment to be a refreshingly different and comfortable space for processing their personal thoughts.

  • Our Veterans Float Fund program provides other floaters an opportunity to give back by donating into a float fund.
  • Those who are on a Float Club membership can opt to have one of their monthly floats automatically donated into the Veterans Float Fund.
  • Active military and veterans can sign up to be notified when new floats are available in the fund.
  • Names for assigning floats from the fund are chosen randomly, and we’ll give preference to someone who has not had the opportunity to experience floating before over someone who has already floated.  In the event that all subscribed fund recipients have floated before, we’ll simply go down the list sequentially based on subscription date.
  • No personal identification between giver and receiver will ever occur; this a totally anonymous pay-it-forward model.

If you’re requesting floats from the fund, please just include a very quick summary of your military service. Nothing too detailed, just the basics.

Phenomenal experience! 5 STARS, top notch establishment. I highly recommend for all of my Veteran Brothers and Sisters! I forgot who I was, where I was and when I was all at the same time…Amazing way to allieviate the symptoms of PTSD and TBI.
Mark O., Retired Military
I am so glad that I finally went in, and that I didn’t let my skepticism get the best of me. (And so are the people around me, now they I’m so much less stressed out!)
I did my first ever float with a “Freedom Float” almost 2 weeks ago and I would like to say that I could not believe how I felt after it. When I started my float I was unsure how I would be able to lay there for 90 mins. Once I got my body calm in the water I closed my eyes and what felt like 10 or 15 mins later the music stopped to let me know that my 90 mins was up. I felt calm and relaxed. I have a TBI and it felt great to be able to shut out the world for a while and let my brain re-set so to speak. I would like to thank whoever buys a “Freedom Float” for us Veterans, as it does really help us. I would also like to thank the people who talked with my husband about the floats and told him that there is a way to do a float even though we do not have the money. I hope one day we will have the money to do another float and maybe even enough to do a pay it forward and buy a “Freedom Float”.
